WithoutWith Kneeva

The one spot

Every stair lands
on one small spot

Each step down the stairs and each push up out of a chair puts your weight through the front of the knee, just below the kneecap. One small spot, about the size of a coin.

A knee sleeve wraps the whole joint and presses on everything at once. Kneeva sits right on that spot instead: a contoured silicone pad held snug by the strap, to support the knee and ease the strain on it.

Try the stairs test. Go down your stairs once without it and once with it on, and notice how hard you hold the rail.

A bulky hinged knee brace lying on a bed next to the much smaller Kneeva strap

Not a brace

Not a brace.
Small on purpose.

A big brace wraps the whole joint in neoprene and hinges. It is hot, it is bulky, it will not go under your trousers, and it ends up in a drawer.

Kneeva does one job on one spot, so it can be small: small enough to wear all day and forget about.

Stays put

Put it on once.
It stays there.

The usual trouble with a knee strap is that it slides: down the leg on the walk to the shops, round to the side in the garden, and you spend the day pulling it back up.

  • ✓The soft silicone pad holds its place, and the strap keeps it snug
  • ✓Still in the same spot after a morning of kneeling and standing
  • ✓Up and down the stairs, out with the dog, round the shops

All day

All day under your clothes,
and you forget it

A neoprene sleeve can feel like a sauna by mid-morning. Kneeva is a slim woven strap that lets air through, with the pad on one small spot instead of neoprene around the whole knee.

Put it on in the morning under your trousers, your leggings or your tights. Nobody will see it. You will just feel the support.

A strap does not change your knee. It supports it while you wear it, and on most ordinary days that is what makes the difference.

Why the second one
is free

Two knees take you up the stairs, and when one is grumbling the other ends up doing more of the work.

So Kneeva comes as a pair for the price of one: a strap for each knee, or keep one and give the other to whoever in your house takes the stairs the way you do.

Questions

Questions people ask
before buying

How is this different from a knee brace?

A brace wraps the whole joint and holds it stiff. Kneeva is a slim strap with one contoured pad that sits just below the kneecap. It supports that spot, lets the knee bend freely and fits under your clothes.

I have tried sleeves and braces before. Why would this be different?

A sleeve presses evenly around the whole knee and tends to roll down; a brace is bulky and hot, so it stays in the drawer. Kneeva puts its support on one spot and stays there. And if it is not for you, you have 30 days to get your money back.

It looks small. Does it do anything?

Small is the point. It only needs to cover one spot below the kneecap, which is why it fits under trousers and stays comfortable all day.

Will it fit my leg?

One size, adjustable. The strap pulls through and fastens wherever it feels snug, so it fits slimmer and fuller legs alike. No size chart and no measuring tape.

Will it slide down?

The soft silicone pad holds its place and the strap keeps it snug, so it stays put on walks, in the garden and on the stairs. If it moves, pull it a little snugger.

Can I wear it all day?

Yes. The woven strap lets air through, and it is thin enough for under trousers, leggings or tights. Take it off at night.

Should I wear one on each knee?

Many people do, which is why the second one is free. Or share the pair with your husband, your sister or your walking partner.

Is it a medical device?

No. Kneeva is a support strap for everyday comfort. If a doctor is looking after your knee, check with them before you wear one.

What if it does not work for me?

You have 30 days. If Kneeva is not for you, send us a message and you get your money back.

Take the stairs facing forward.

Tonight, notice how hard you hold the rail on your stairs. Then try it with Kneeva: a slim strap with a contoured silicone pad that sits just below the kneecap, stays put and breathes. Two for the price of one, free shipping and 30 days to change your mind.

Down the stairs facing forward

Our stairs are steep and I had started going down sideways with both hands on the banister. Put the strap on the morning it arrived and walked down facing forward, one hand just resting on the rail. My husband noticed before I said a word.

Back in the vegetable beds

Kneeling down and getting back up was the part of gardening I had started to dread. I wore one all morning in the vegetable beds and still had enough left in me to walk to the shops after lunch.

Snug, not tight

Ordered the two pack, one for each knee. It took me a day to work out how snug to pull it, and too tight is not better. Now they go on with my socks every morning.

Thursday walking group

Our walking group does about six miles every Thursday, ending at the cafe by the river. I wore one on each knee last week and kept pace with the leaders the whole way, instead of watching them disappear around the bend.

Up from the armchair

Getting out of my favorite chair had become a two-handed job with a little rocking start. With the strap on I just stand up. A small thing, but I notice it every single evening.

All day under my trousers

I volunteer at the library three days a week and wear it under my trousers from nine until four. Nobody can tell it is there, it does not dig in, and the stairs up to the reading room feel easier.

Better than my old sleeve

My old neoprene sleeve rolled down by lunchtime and made my leg hot. This is far smaller and stays where I put it. Four stars only because it took me a few tries to find the right spot under the kneecap.

One for me, one for my sister

Bought the two pack and gave the second strap to my sister, who struggles with the same hill on our Sunday walk. We both wear them now, and neither of us has to stop at the bench halfway up.

Cool enough for July

It was a hot July Saturday and I wore it all afternoon at the farmers market. Air gets through the strap and I never had that sweaty, itchy feeling my old brace gave me by the second hour.

Does what it says

Simple strap, easy to put on and comfortable once it is in place. The steps up to church feel easier with it. I would buy it again in a second color.

It really does stay put

I was sure it would slide down like the cheap strap I bought online last year, whose fastener gave out within a month. It did not move. Three hours of weeding, kneeling and standing back up, and it was exactly where I had put it in the morning.

My husband took the spare

My husband laughed at how small it was, then borrowed the second one for his Saturday golf. He wears it under his trousers on the course and has stopped taking the cart for the back nine.

The full loop again

It takes me ten seconds to put on before I take the dog out. We have started doing the full loop of the lake again, which we had not managed since last spring.
