Those tiny nails are sharper than they look… and they grow back FAST.
Baby nails are paper thin. When they grow out, the edge turns into a tiny blade.
And your baby has no idea it is there.
Little hands fly around all day and all night. They rub their eyes. They grab at their nose. They startle in their sleep and swipe straight across their own cheek.
So you lift them out of the crib in the morning and there it is. A fresh red scratch across that perfect little face.
And it gets worse…
You finally get the nails short, and a few days later they are long and sharp again. Tiny nails grow fast, so the whole nervous routine comes back around before you have recovered from the last one.
Mittens? They come off in minutes. Or they end up in the laundry basket and you are back where you started.
How a face scratch happens
- The nail grows outWithin days, past the fingertip
- The edge stays thinSharp corners, like a paper cut
- Little hands flailRubbing, grabbing, startling in sleep
- A red scratch by morningCheeks, nose, right by the eyes
Left alone, those sharp little nails lead to
- ✕Scratched cheeks, noses and eyelids
- ✕Mittens that never stay on
- ✕A nail trim you dread every few days

And here's the part nobody tells you before the baby arrives…
Clippers, Scissors, Biting And Emery Boards… Why None Of Them Work On A Wriggling Baby
Every new parent gets handed the same little grooming kit. And every one of those tools asks you to do something impossible: be perfectly precise on a moving target the size of a grain of rice.
A blade closing millimeters from soft fingertip skin. One wriggle at the wrong second and you nick them. Then you're both crying, and you put the next trim off as long as you can.
Two pointed blades, a tiny curved nail and a hand that will not stay still. Awkward at the best of times, nerve-racking at 7am.
What so many parents end up doing in secret. You can't see what you're doing, it leaves torn, jagged edges that scratch even more, and it's your teeth next to their fingertips.
Gentle, sure, but SLOW. Two strokes in and the hand is gone. You end up with one and a half nails done and nine to go.

It's not that you're doing it wrong.
It's that every one of those tools depends on you being perfect, with a baby who won't hold still. Cutting is the problem. Clippers and scissors near tiny fingertips are the problem.
The good news… you can now keep those nails short and smooth without a single blade anywhere near your baby's fingers.
Introducing
Pippet Baby Nail File
Pippet is a quiet little electric nail file, about the size of a marker pen. On the tip is a small round soft pad that spins and gently files the nail edge down. There is nothing to cut with and no blade anywhere on it.
You just pick the pad for your baby's age…
Switch it on, touch the spinning pad to the white edge of each nail, and watch it go down a little at a time. Smooth. Rounded. Done… and you're FINISHED.
Step 4Smooth edgesShort, rounded, nothing sharpHere Are 4 More Reasons Parents Are Switching To Pippet…
Beginning with how it…
Reason 1Files The Nail Down Instead Of Cutting It Off
Clippers work by squeezing a blade through the nail. The trouble is a blade can't tell nail from skin. Whatever is between the jaws when they close, gets cut.
Pippet works the other way around.
Its small round pad has a fine, soft filing surface. When it spins against the free edge of the nail, it wears that edge down a tiny bit at a time, the same way an emery board does, only many times faster and with no sawing back and forth.
So instead of one big snap at the fingertip…
You get a slow, steady, controlled file. You can see the nail getting shorter, and you stop the moment it's short enough.
And because it files instead of cutting, the edge comes out rounded and smooth. Clippers leave a straight cut with two sharp little corners, and those corners are exactly what ends up scratching faces. Filing doesn't leave them.
That is why Pippet comes with six pads in all, from the softest for newborn nails to firmer ones for toddlers, plus pads for you too:
And that's only the first reason to switch… there are 3 more. Including how it lets you do the whole thing while they're fast asleep…
Reason 2Quiet Enough To Use While They Sleep (With A Light So You Can See)
Ask any parent who has done this a few times and they'll tell you the secret: the best time to do nails is when the baby is asleep.
Their hands go soft and open. No grabbing, no pulling away, no wriggling.
The problem? A clipper snap can startle them awake. And you can't see a thing in a dark nursery without flicking on the big light.
Pippet fixes both.
It runs with a low, soft hum that's quiet enough to use while they sleep. And there's a little LED light built right in, which shines on the fingertip so you can see the nail clearly with the room lights still off.
One button turns it on. Your other hand stays free to hold their hand still and steady. Nap time, the late feed, the car seat on a long drive… they doze, you file.
There are still 2 more reasons, including why so many parents say they're done with clippers for good…
Why Parents Of Little Ones Should STEER CLEAR Of Clippers And Scissors
Most baby clippers are just adult clippers made smaller. Same idea, same blade, same snap.
But a baby is not a small adult.
A baby's fingertip is soft and padded, and that soft skin sits right up against the nail. There's almost no gap between the nail you want to cut and the skin you don't. To get the nail short with a clipper, the blade has to go right into that tiny gap.
Then add a baby who jerks their hand away at the worst possible moment…
One nick and you're both crying.
And it isn't only the nick. It's what happens next. Once it has happened once, most of us start putting off the next trim. The nails get longer. The scratches come back. And the next trim is even more nerve-racking than the last.
Scissors aren't the answer either. Pointed blades, a curved nail and a moving hand is the same problem with a different handle.
That's why filing makes more sense.
No clippers near tiny fingertips. No blade at all. Just a soft pad that files the edge down while you watch, so a nail trim goes back to being a two-minute job instead of the moment you dread.

And there's still one more reason Pippet belongs in every nursery…
One Little Kit From Newborn To Toddler (And Your Own Nails Too)
Baby gear has a habit of being outgrown in a few weeks. Not this.
Pippet grows with your baby. Start on the softest pad in the newborn weeks, then move up as nails get thicker and toddler fingers get busier. Toes too: little toenails file down just the same.
And when the baby is done, the grown-up pad is there for you. Tidy your own nails in front of the TV, no clipping noise, no flying nail bits.
Everything lives in its own small oval case, with a spot for each pad, so nothing goes missing in the bottom of a drawer. It slips into a diaper bag in seconds.

One file. Six pads. From the first week to the toddler years.

How Often Should You File Baby Nails?
Baby fingernails grow fast. Most parents settle into a quick file once or twice a week for fingers, and every week or two for toes.
The trick is little and often. A quick file before the nails get long means there's never a sharp edge waiting to scratch.
And that is where most families realize one Pippet isn't quite enough. Because nails don't only need doing at home…
That is why we recommend the pair: one at home, one for grandma's house.

No more biting
I am not proud of it but I was biting her nails off because clippers scared me. Now I wait for her nap, put the softest pad on and file them down. She did not even stir.

Clippers are in the bin
I nicked my son with clippers at three weeks and we both cried, me harder than him. Took me a long while to try anything again. With this I can see the nail going down slowly and stop when it looks right. Nail day is not a big deal anymore.
Slept right through it
Did all ten fingers while he was asleep on my chest after his bottle. It makes a soft hum, nothing like the click of clippers, and he never even flinched. I am doing his toes tomorrow at nap time.

Slower than clipping
It does take a few minutes for both hands, so it is not as quick as clippers. But her cheeks have no scratches for the first time since she was born, so I will take it.

The light
I do nails on the 2am feed now. The light on the end shows me exactly where the nail is without turning the lamp on and waking her up properly.

One for grandma
Got the two pack. My mom watches him three days a week and was terrified of the clippers I left there. She uses hers more than I use mine.

Faster than an emery board
I tried an emery board for weeks and got maybe two nails done before he pulled away. This gets a whole hand done in the time he tolerates.
Good, read the pads
Works well once I worked out the pads. I started on a firmer one and it was a bit much for her tiny nails, so start on the softest one. Case keeps them all together.

Toes too
Her toenails were the worst, they curve and I could never get the clippers in. The file just takes the edge off. Two minutes on a Sunday morning.

Rounded edges
What I like is that the nails come out rounded. When I clipped them there were always little sharp corners and those were what scratched her face.
Dad can do it
My wife always did nails because my hands are too big for baby clippers. I can do this one. Held his hand in mine and filed while he watched the fan.
Wish it came in more colors
Works exactly as I hoped and lives in the diaper bag. Only small thing is I would have liked a grey or white one. Silly complaint.

Twins
With twins I was doing twenty fingers every few days and dreading every one. Now it is part of the nap routine, one twin at a time. One sleeps right through it, the other watches the little light and giggles the whole time.
Arrived fast
Came in a few days in a small padded mailer. Clicked the softest pad on straight away and filed my daughter's nails that same night while she slept in her bassinet.

Calm nail time
She used to scream the minute she saw the clippers. Now I sing to her while I file and she is fine with it. Takes the stress out of the whole thing for me.
Takes practice
First go was clumsy, I pressed too hard. Second time I let the pad do the work with a light touch like the instructions say, and it was easy. Good little thing.
I use it too
Bought it for the baby and ended up using the grown-up pad on my own nails in front of the TV most nights. No clipping noise, no bits flying everywhere, and my nails look neater than when I cut them. The baby still gets first turn.

Car seat trick
Long drive to my sister's, he fell asleep in the car seat and I filed his nails from the back seat. Ten fingers done before we got there.
New grandma here
My daughter asked me to do the baby's nails when I babysit and I was so nervous with clippers. This is easy for my old eyes thanks to the light, and my hands don't shake with it. My daughter bought me my own.
Gift for my sister
Bought two, kept one and gave one to my sister who just had her first. She texted me a week later saying it was the most used thing in her nursery.

Good but noisy-ish
It is quiet, but my son is a very light sleeper and he woke up once. Most nights he stays asleep. Still far better than the clippers.
Newborn nails
Her nails were so thin and soft I could not see where nail stopped and skin started. With the softest pad I just took the very tip down gently.
No more mittens
We gave up on mittens, she pulled them off in minutes. Filing every few days keeps her nails short enough that her face stays clear.

Easy in the stroller
Did a quick file while she napped in the stroller at the park, with the shade down. It fits in the stroller basket in its little case, so it just lives in there now with the wipes.

Second baby
Wish I had this with my first. I bit his nails off for months. With baby two it is the first thing I packed in the hospital bag.
Simple
One button, pick a pad, done. My husband figured it out without reading anything and now nails are his job on Sunday mornings while I sleep in. Best trade we ever made.
Pads wear
The baby pads are soft so they do wear with use, which makes sense. Glad there are six in the case. Otherwise no complaints at all.

Daycare bag
Daycare is not allowed to clip nails, so I sent the second one in his bag with a note. They file them at nap time now.
She presses the button
My two year old wants to hold it and watch the light. She lets me do her nails now as long as she can press the button first.

Peace of mind
I was holding my breath every time I clipped. Now I just file a little and check. It has made nail day boring, which is exactly what I wanted.
There Is One Downside To Pippet That We Have To Mention…
If you STOP using it…
The nails grow straight back. Within days they're past the fingertip again, thin and sharp, and the morning scratches start all over.
Which is NOT what you want.
But that makes sense, right? Babies are growing at full speed, and their nails are no different.
Now… as long as Pippet is within reach, you're covered.
A quick file once or twice a week while they nap, and there's never a sharp edge waiting for that little face.
The catch is that babies don't only live in one house. Nails grow at grandma's, in the car and on holiday too. And the one place you need the file is always the place it isn't.
So we'd like to give you an easy way to keep one everywhere your baby spends time…
For an even LOWER price!
It's part of the new-customer price we're running right now. Right here on this page you can get two Pippets, one for home and one for grandma's house, for just $29.95 each.
Just pick the two-pack in the box above. Both come with their own six pads and case.
Questions parents ask
From what age can I use it?
From the newborn weeks. Start on the softest pad with the light touch, and move up a pad as the nails get thicker. It works on toes too.
Will it wake my baby?
It runs with a low, soft hum, quiet enough to use while they sleep. Many parents do nails during a nap or the late feed, when little hands are relaxed and open.
How do I use it?
Click on the pad for your baby's age, switch it on, hold your baby's finger steady and touch the spinning pad lightly to the white edge of the nail. Let the pad do the work, no pressing needed. Check as you go and stop when the nail is short and smooth.
Which pad do I use?
The softest pads are for newborn and young baby nails, the firmer ones for older babies and toddlers, and the coarsest pad is for grown-up nails. When in doubt, start softer.
Can I use it on my own nails?
Yes. The kit includes a grown-up pad, so you can tidy your own nails with the same file.
How fast is shipping?
Shipping is free on every order. Orders are dispatched in 1 to 3 business days, with a tracking link emailed as soon as yours ships.
How does the money back work?
Try Pippet for 30 days. If it is not for you, message us within 30 days and we refund your order. It is a one-time purchase, with no subscription.
Why get two?
So there's one wherever your baby spends time: one at home and one at grandma's house, in the diaper bag or at daycare. Or keep one and give one to a new parent.
Put the clippers away for good.
Pippet files tiny nails short and smooth, quietly enough to do while they sleep, with no clippers near tiny fingertips. Two for $59.90, free shipping and 30 days to change your mind.
Always hold your baby's hand steady while filing, keep a light touch, and check each nail as you go. Keep the pads and case away from little hands when not in use.
