Will it fit me?
It suits most adults from about 4 ft 10 in to 6 ft 4 in. Shorter sitters sit a little higher and are still fully supported. The seat is rated for up to 330 lb.
Is it easy to get up out of?
Yes. The seat sits higher than a low beach chair, so you are not rocking yourself out of it. Put your hands on the sides of the seat and push up.
Are there loose parts to lose?
None. The legs, the hub and the seat stay joined. You open it and fold it in one piece, so there is nothing to fit together or leave behind.
Will it sink in sand or mud?
On soft, dry sand or wet ground the feet can press in a little, like any chair. Firm sand, grass or a deck are no problem. A towel or a mat under the feet spreads the load.

How a pop-open chair compares
to the usual folding chairs
Why it is built this way
Most compact chairs make you choose: small enough to carry, or comfortable enough to sit in for an afternoon. The tiny stools are light but hard on your back. The big camp chairs are comfortable but heavy and awkward to carry.
Poppit sits in between. It folds to about the length of a water bottle and weighs about 3.7 lb, then opens into a deep, padded seat with a back you can lean into.

What people say
about Poppit
“Lives in the car now. Every soccer game, every beach day, it comes with me.”
Maureen K.“I can sit down and get back up without a helping hand. That alone sold me.”
Gail P.“Bought one, my wife took it over, so I ordered a second in Sky Blue.”
Dennis W.“Pops open in seconds. No poles, no fiddling while everyone waits.”
Judith A.“Heavier than a little stool, but far more comfortable for a whole afternoon.”
Ron S.“Fits in my tote with room to spare. My old camp chair never did.”
Patricia H.Every Saturday at the field
Three grandkids, three different games most Saturdays. I used to stand the whole time. Now the bag sits in the trunk, I pop it open on the sideline and I am settled before kickoff.

Easy to get out of
Low camp chairs are hard work for me, I end up rocking myself out of them. This one sits higher and I push up on the sides and I am standing. Comfortable for the whole concert too.
Had to buy a second
Bought it for my fishing trips. My wife sat in it once at the beach and that was the end of that. Ordered her a Sky Blue one so I could have mine back.

No poles to lose
My last folding chair had sleeves and poles and I lost one the first summer. This just opens out from the middle in one go. Ten seconds and I am sitting down with my coffee.
Solid, not featherweight
It is heavier than the tripod stool I had, so I would not take it on a long hike. For the car, the boat ramp and the beach it is great, and far comfier for a long afternoon.
Goes everywhere with me
Folded up it is about the size of my water bottle. It goes in my beach tote, under the seat on the ferry, and once into a carry-on for a trip to see my sister.

Caravan life
Space is tight in the van and our big chairs took up half the storage locker. Two of these fit in a drawer. We set them up outside the door in the time it takes to boil the kettle.

Tall guy, still fits
I am six foot two and it supports my back fine. Folding it back into the bag took a few tries to learn. Quick now.
Sketching outdoors
I paint outdoors most weeks and carry everything on my back. The chair hangs off my bag strap and I barely notice it. I can sit for a couple of hours and my back is fine at the end.

Everyone wanted a go
Took two to a family picnic and spent the whole afternoon handing them around the table. By the end of the day three relatives had asked where I got them.
Outdoor concerts
We go to the summer concerts in the park. I used to haul a heavy chair from the parking lot, now it is on my shoulder in its bag. The padded seat is comfy for the whole show.

Doesn't dig into my legs
The front edge of the seat is rounded and padded, so it does not cut into the backs of my legs like my old folding chair did. I can sit through a whole ball game now.
Burgundy in the garden
Bought the Burgundy one for the garden and it gets more use than the patio set. I carry it to wherever the sun is, read for an hour, then fold it up and hang it on a hook in the shed.

Soft sand tip
On soft dry sand the feet sink in a little, like any chair. I stand it on the beach towel and it is steady. Firm grass or the deck, no issue at all.
Beach mornings
I walk to the beach most mornings with a thermos and a book. The bag goes over my shoulder, the chair pops open on the sand and I watch the swimmers. First beach chair I do not dread carrying back up the path to the car.

Gift for my mother
Got the Sky Blue one for my mother, who is 78 and loves the grandkids' games. She opens it herself and gets up out of it without any help, which matters most to her.

hundreds of uses
From the grandkids' Saturday game to a summer concert in the park, there is a color for you.

Questions
Questions people ask
before buying
Why does it cost more than a cheap camp chair?
Because it fixes what cheap chairs get wrong. Budget chairs are bulky, awkward to carry and often sag out of shape after a season. Poppit folds to about the size of a water bottle, opens in about 10 seconds and is built on an aluminum frame, so it is the chair you actually take with you.
Most chairs get uncomfortable after an hour. Is this different?
That is what it is designed for. Upright camp chairs hold you stiffly. Poppit's deep, padded seat wraps around you and the mesh panel supports your back, so you can sit back and relax for the whole afternoon instead of shifting around.
How small does it pack down?
About 14 in (35 cm) long in its bag, close to a large water bottle. It fits in a beach tote, a backpack, a caravan drawer or most carry-on bags.
Is it stable, or will it feel flimsy?
It is steady. Four legs spread out wide from a central hub, so it does not wobble when you lean forward to reach your drink or turn to talk to someone.
Will the seat dig into the backs of my legs?
No. The front edge of the seat is rounded and padded, so there is no hard bar pressing into your thighs while you sit.
Why does it not rock or swivel?
On purpose. Moving parts are the parts that wear out outdoors, and a base that moves under you is the last thing you want when you sit down or stand up. Once Poppit is open, nothing moves.
How do I fold it back up?
Lift the seat from the middle and the legs come together, then slide it back into the bag. It takes a couple of tries to get the knack, then it is quick.

Wherever the day takes you.
