Why plain water is enough. Microfiber is made of very fine split fibers. Damp, they grab grime and hold it in the cloth instead of pushing it around the surface, so the water only has to loosen the dirt. The cloth does the carrying.
Why it dries clear. A streak is dirty water left behind. A cloth wrung out until it is only damp picks the water up with the dirt, so there is nothing left on the glass to dry into a line.
Why the size matters. Fold one in quarters and you have eight faces to work with. Turn to a clean face when one gets dirty and you finish a whole room with one cloth.

This is simple arithmetic, not a lab result. Your numbers will be different. You will still want a few paper towels for raw meat and pet accidents, and a disinfectant where you need one. What PrestoClean replaces is the everyday wiping, which is most of the roll.
How to use it

Four steps, and the second one is the one that matters.
- 1Wet it
Run it under the tap. Warm water if you are going after grease.
- 2Wring it out hard
It should feel damp, not wet. Too much water is what leaves streaks, so if you see one, wring again and go over it once more.
- 3Wipe once
Fold it in quarters and make one pass. On big glass like a shower door, a quick buff with a dry cloth afterwards gives the cleanest finish.
- 4Wash it
In the machine, warm, with your normal detergent. No fabric softener and no dryer sheets. Hang it to dry or tumble on low.
Wash the pack once before the first use. New microfiber can hold loose fibers from the factory, and one wash clears them.

I have tried microfiber before and it streaked. Why would this be different?
Most microfiber streaks for one of two reasons: it was used too wet, or it was washed with fabric softener or dryer sheets, which coat the fibers so they smear instead of lift. How is this different from a cheap multipack of microfiber?
Microfiber varies more than it looks. Bargain packs tend to be small, thin squares that push water around. PrestoClean cloths are large and thick, which is what lets one damp pass pick the water up rather than smear it. If a cheap pack already works for you, keep using it. If it streaks, this is what to try, and you have 30 days to decide.
How many washes will they last?
We do not have a wash count we can stand behind, so we are not going to print one. What we can tell you is how microfiber usually dies: fabric softener, dryer sheets and high dryer heat, not the washing itself. Wash warm, skip the softener, dry low or on a line, and they keep working for a long time.
How do I wash them?
Machine wash warm with your regular detergent. No fabric softener and no dryer sheets. Wash them apart from towels and fleece, which shed lint into them. Hang to dry or tumble on low. That is the whole routine, and it is the reason most people's old microfiber "stopped working".
Will they scratch glass, screens or car paint?
The cloth itself is soft microfiber and will not scratch glass or a screen. What scratches is grit already caught in a cloth, any cloth. Rinse it before a screen or the car, and keep one cloth just for those. On paint, use it for dust and water spots, not for scrubbing off dried mud.
Do they really lift grease, or only dust?
Fingerprints, splashes and the everyday film on a stovetop or a steel fridge come off with warm water and a damp cloth. Grease that has been baked on for months needs a degreaser the first time. After that, a quick wipe with PrestoClean keeps it from building up again.
What size are they, and how many do I need?
They are sold as XXL, larger than a standard microfiber square. We have not confirmed the exact measurements yet and we will print them here when we have. Five is enough to keep one each for glass, the kitchen, the bathroom, screens and the car.
Do they kill germs?
No. PrestoClean lifts and holds dirt, and that is all we claim. It does not disinfect anything. Where you need a disinfectant, such as after raw meat, keep using one.
