I expected nothing. A week later the base was dotted with moths and my cashmere was left alone. Margaret H.
How they work

A pheromone lure draws male clothes moths into the trap. They stick to the base and die there. Fewer males means fewer eggs laid in your clothes, so the breeding cycle breaks, and you can see exactly what each trap has caught.

What you get

Each pack holds 4 traps, enough to spread across a closet, a chest of drawers and a storage box.
Buy 1 Get 1 Free: 2 packs, 8 traps.
Buy 2 Get 2 Free: 4 packs, 16 traps.

Why they work

A lure made for clothes moths. A sticky base that holds what it catches. About 3 months of protection per trap. No sprays, no harsh chemicals and no smell, so it hangs right among your clothes.

Where to use

Closets and drawers. Storage boxes, chests and cupboards. Anywhere you keep wool, cashmere or silk.

Simple and discreet

Peel, fold and hang. No mess and no smell. On the rail it looks like a striped tag among your hangers.

About the crossed-out prices: each one is the single-pack price times the number of packs you get.

Why pheromone traps

No spray on your clothes.
No smell in your closet.

Mothballs and sprays work by filling the closet with a smell strong enough to keep moths away, and your clothes end up smelling of it too. A pheromone trap works the other way round. It carries the scent a female clothes moth gives off to find a mate. The males follow it in, stick to the base and die there. Fewer males means fewer eggs in your knits, and the cycle breaks.

  • ✓Nothing sprayed onto your clothes
  • ✓No smell, so your wool smells like wool
  • ✓You can see it working: the catch stays on the base

I was skeptical

Honestly I expected nothing, I had tried lavender bags for years. A week after I hung the trap the base was dotted with small moths, and nothing new has shown up on my cashmere since.

Forgot about it, then checked

Hung one in the bedroom closet and honestly forgot it was there. Two months later I took it down to look and the base was covered. Ordered the bigger pack the same evening.

No smell, which I needed

Strong scents give me headaches, so mothballs and sprays were never an option. These have no smell at all. I hang them on the rail and forget about them.

My mother's coat

I keep my late mother's camel wool coat in the spare room closet and found a small hole in the sleeve last spring. I hung one trap on the rail right next to it. Plenty of moths on the base since then, and not one new hole.

Give it a week, then move it

The first week it caught nothing where I put it, behind the shoe rack. I moved it up to the rail by the sweaters and it started catching within days. Four stars because I had to figure that out myself.

The whole house in one go

Went for the four packs. Two closets, the coat closet, the chest of drawers and the hope chest at the foot of the bed all have one now, with a set left over.

Back from a long weekend

We were away four days. When I came home there were eight moths stuck to the base in the bedroom closet. I never saw that many flying around, which is the scary part.

Sweaters saved

Moths came back this summer like every year, but this time I was ready. Just replaced the first trap after three months and it was full. My wool sweaters are all in one piece.

Caught one the first night

That closet already had a cedar block and a repellent sachet in it, and I still found a moth on the trap the next morning. So much for those.

Drawers too

I fold one into its triangle and stand it at the back of the sweater drawer, the other on the closet rail. Both have catches on them. Easy to fold, no mess on your fingers.

Should have bought more

Four traps did not go far in our house. The two in the bedroom filled up quickest. I have just ordered the four packs so the hall and the guest room get some too.

You hardly notice it

It looks like a striped tag on a hanger. My husband never noticed it there until I showed him what was stuck to the base.

Wool rug on the landing

We had little moths near the wool runner on the upstairs landing and in the linen closet. Put a trap on the shelf there and one in my closet. Both caught plenty in the first two weeks.

Bought them for my wife

My wife was losing good sweaters every summer. I ordered two packs after we found holes in her favorite cardigan. The traps are full of moths now and she has not lost another one.

Early days but promising

Hung two a couple of weeks ago and there are already a few moths on each base. Too soon to say for good, but my cashmere looks fine so far.

Home from vacation to moths

Came back from two weeks at my sister's and there were moths fluttering out of my closet. Horrible. Hung the traps that day and within a week they had caught a good few. The closet is quiet now.

Everything you need to know

Your moth trap questions,
answered

What do pheromone moth traps actually do?

Each trap carries the scent female clothes moths give off to attract a mate. Male moths follow it in, stick to the base and die there. With fewer males, fewer eggs are laid in your clothes, and the moth cycle in your closet breaks.

Do these traps kill moths?

Yes. Male clothes moths that fly in stick to the base and die there. The trap deals with the flying moths, so wash any sweater that already has holes before it goes back in the closet.

Are pheromone traps enough on their own?

For most closets, yes, together with two simple habits: put wool away clean, since moths go for worn clothes, and air the closet now and then. No extra sprays or sachets needed.

Where should I place the traps?

Wherever you keep wool, cashmere or silk: on the closet rail, on a shelf, at the back of a drawer or in a storage chest. Spread them out, one per closet or drawer, rather than grouping them together. If a trap has caught nothing after a week, move it higher up or along the rail.

How long does each trap last?

About 3 months once it is opened. Replace it then, or sooner when the base is full.

Are they safe around children and pets?

There is no spray and nothing to breathe in. The base is sticky, so hang traps up on the rail or set them where small hands and paws cannot reach.

Will they catch pantry moths too?

No. They are made for clothes moths, the small moths that eat wool, cashmere and silk. Pantry moths in the kitchen are a different moth and need their own trap.

Why get more than one pack?

Most homes keep wool in more than one place: the bedroom closet, a chest of drawers, the coat closet by the door. Buy 1 Get 1 Free gives you 8 traps for two closets, or a closet and drawers. Buy 2 Get 2 Free gives you 16, enough for the whole house.

How does the 30-day money back work?

Try Wardly for 30 days, traps hung and all. If it is not for you, send us a message and you get your money back.
